1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to TankFoundry's website, application, marketplace, subscriptions and related support. It does not govern independent buyers, sellers, payment providers, carriers or websites that have their own privacy practices.
2. Information collected
Depending on how you use TankFoundry, information may include:
- Account data: email address, display name, authentication identifiers, profile image, role, location, biography and shipping policy.
- Aquarium and business records: tanks, water readings, livestock, breeding records, tasks, inventory, quotes, expenses, sales, customers and uploaded images.
- Marketplace data: listings, descriptions, prices, approximate location, shipping terms, seller profile, saved listings, inquiries, messages and reports.
- Subscription data: plan, subscription status and billing-related identifiers. Full payment-card details are handled by the payment provider rather than stored by TankFoundry.
- Technical data: browser and device information, IP-derived information, timestamps, diagnostic records, security events and acceptance of legal-policy versions.
3. How information is used
TankFoundry uses information to provide and synchronize the service; authenticate accounts; display profiles and listings; process subscriptions; support business-team features; communicate about accounts; prevent fraud and abuse; enforce policies; troubleshoot and improve performance; comply with law; and protect users, animals, the public and the platform.
4. Marketplace visibility
Information intentionally placed in a seller profile or marketplace listing may be visible to other users or the public, depending on the feature. Do not post an exact home address, sensitive personal data, permit numbers, payment credentials or information you do not want others to see.
5. Service providers
TankFoundry uses service providers to operate the application. These may include Supabase for authentication, database and file storage; Vercel for hosting and application functions; Stripe for subscription billing; and Resend or another email provider for account communications. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments as necessary to perform services for TankFoundry.
6. Sharing and disclosure
TankFoundry may share information with service providers; with other users when a feature requires it; at your direction; during a business transfer; to investigate fraud, safety or policy violations; or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process or lawful government requests. TankFoundry does not sell personal information for money. This statement does not waive rights that may apply under state privacy laws.
7. Retention
Information is retained while needed to provide the service and for legitimate operational, security, dispute-resolution, backup, tax and legal purposes. Marketplace records, transaction communications, enforcement records and policy-acceptance records may be retained after account closure when reasonably necessary. Backup copies may take additional time to expire.
8. Security
TankFoundry uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service is completely secure. Use a unique password, protect access to your email account and promptly report suspected unauthorized activity.
9. Your choices and rights
You may update many profile and application records in the app. You may request access, correction or deletion through the contact method published at tankfoundry.app. TankFoundry may verify identity and may retain information when required or permitted by law. Depending on your state, additional rights may apply.
10. Cookies and local storage
TankFoundry may use browser storage, authentication tokens and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, support offline behavior, synchronize records, maintain security and measure application performance. Blocking these technologies may prevent parts of the service from working.
11. Age restriction
TankFoundry is intended only for people age 18 or older and is not directed to children. If TankFoundry learns that it collected personal information from a child contrary to this policy, it will take reasonable steps to delete it.
12. United States processing
TankFoundry is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.
13. Policy changes
This policy may be updated as the service or legal requirements change. Material updates may be presented in the app and may require renewed acknowledgment. The version and effective date above identify the current policy.
